Sylvan Lake Municipal Library

Book-To-Movie Club

Jun 28, 2021  |  Last Monday of the Month | 7:00-8:30 p.m. | Virtual Events via Zoom

Read the book of the month, watch the movie, then join the discussion.

Do you always prefer the book, or would you rather just watch the movie? Do you love to compare the two? Either way, this is the book club for you!

Join us via Zoom to connect with others and share your thoughts about the book, the movie, or both!

For June's meeting, we will be discussing Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen. Place a hold on the book and/or movie, or pick up a copy at the library. But, there's a twist this month! You can also pick up a copy of Lost in Austen, and see how this twist on the tale compares!

Don't miss the chance to dress up for this event! June will be our last meeting for the year and we will resume Book to Movie Club on September 27.

Pride and Prejudice

"Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work "her own darling child" and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, "as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print." The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring. And Jane Austen's radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England." -
